About Wiggins Endurance Coaching
I’m Ross Wiggins, an endurance running coach working with runners of all abilities — from those starting their running journey to experienced athletes chasing big goals. My focus is on improving performance without sacrificing health, so you can train consistently, stay injury-free, and enjoy the process.
All of my coaching is delivered online and fully tailored to you. You’ll receive weekly training plans that can be adjusted day-to-day around real life — including work, family commitments, stress, illness, injury, and fluctuations in energy levels. Training should fit your life, not the other way around.
Regular communication is central to long-term progress. Training is delivered through Final Surge, where you can comment on sessions and provide weekly feedback. You’ll also have the option to book regular video calls to review progress, adjust goals, and plan ahead.
I’m trained and mentored by John Starrett of Stazza’s Stable, who has coached me for the past two years. I completed his Coaching the Coaches course in Iten, Kenya, where I refined my approach alongside other dedicated coaches.
Alongside coaching, my background is in healthcare, having worked as a paramedic. This shapes how I coach — with a strong emphasis on health, injury prevention, and sustainable progress. As a runner myself, I have experience across the spectrum, from parkruns and road marathons to 100-mile ultramarathons.
If you’re looking for coaching that adapts to you — rather than forcing you into a rigid plan — I’d love to help.

Trips to Iten, Kenya
There are opportunities for my coaching clients to travel to Iten, Kenya and train at the home of the champions. These trips are for 2 weeks and may be run in collaboration with Stazza’s Stable, or — where there is sufficient demand — organised directly by me. Having trained and studied in Iten, I have the local contacts and experience to arrange high-quality, well-supported trips.
Prices are very competitive, with food and accommodation included, allowing you to focus fully on the experience.
What the experience includes:
Training in the areas used by elite Kenyan runners
Running on the world-famous Moiben Road
Insight into how local athletes live and train day to day
A visit to a local school attended by world-record holders
Pacers available for morning and evening runs
Plenty of downtime to rest, recover, or explore the local area
Iten is safe and welcoming with an incredible running culture.
Altitude
Iten sits at altitude, so the focus during the first 10 days is on easy, controlled running to allow your body to adapt.
These trips are about learning, motivation and inspiration. It is not possible to get significant gains from altitude in two weeks.
Testimonials
Jacob D
Coming into endurance running from a gym and CrossFit background, I had very little experience of long miles or time in the hills. His coaching completely changed that. He built my confidence as a non-runner, helped me move away from an intensity-driven mindset, and taught me to trust the process. More than just programming, he was consistently engaged and present, getting me through difficult patches in both training and during long events. His quietly inspirational style played a huge part in getting me through a multi-day event and a 49-mile ultra, and I wouldn’t have reached those starts — or finishes — without him.
Robbie B
I contacted Ross to help train for a trail marathon with not much time to spare, and he was fully up for the challenge. His plans were clear, realistic, and backed by a brilliant understanding of how the body actually adapts to running — which he explains in such an approachable way. He’s incredibly personable, calm, and supportive, and always made time to check in when doubt crept in. I ended up exceeding our expectations on race day and feel inspired to keep running. If you’re tired of generic online plans and want a coach who genuinely cares, Ross is your guy.

Ross coached me for my first backyard ultra where I was able to run further than ever before. He also helped me recover and build back up carefully to run Manchester marathon 6 weeks later where I got a substantial PB. He told me the two races back to back were a risk so I was really impressed I did this without getting injured!
